After a successful theatrical run, the much-talked-about Telugu horror-comedy Subham is now ready to entertain audiences at home. Directed by Praveen Kandregula and produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu under her banner Tralala Moving Pictures.
Subham offers a unique blend of supernatural suspense and quirky comedy, making it stand out in the current wave of Telugu cinema. Set in the quaint coastal town of Bheemili, the story revolves around a local cable operator who begins to notice a strange pattern: several women in the town are mysteriously affected after watching a particular TV serial. What starts as a humorous observation soon takes a dark and eerie turn, leading the protagonist into a bizarre mystery filled with twists, scares, and laughs.
Released in theatres on May 9, 2025, the film received praise for its fresh storyline, engaging screenplay, and subtle social commentary. The film also introduced a relatively new cast, whose performances were appreciated for their authenticity and charm.
With its OTT release, Subham is expected to reach a much wider audience, especially among those who missed it in theatres. The blend of horror and humor, coupled with a regional flavor and solid direction, makes it a perfect weekend watch.
The film is set to premiere on JioHotstar on June 13, 2025. JioHotstar subscribers can start streaming Subham from June 13, and it’s definitely a film to add to your June watchlist.
