Australia has named its 13-player squad that is to play a three-match T20I series against Pakistan at home, though the key men left out of the list consist mostly of the regular captains who will be getting a rest ahead of the Tests series against India.
The T20I series will start on 14 November in Brisbane and will feature matches in Sydney and Hobart. Without the Test stars around, Australia would have to prepare a new captain for their Pakistan series. Usual T20 captain Mitch Marsh and Test captain Pat Cummins will be busy as they prepare for the five-match Test series against India who will begin their tour at Perth on November 22.
Despite the missing players in this squad, the Australian side has some quite experienced T20 players like Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Adam Zampa. On the other hand, Three fast bowlers, Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson, have also made a comeback after recovering from injuries.
Selection Chairman George Bailey was upbeat about the team. He said, “This group of players have all played T20 cricket for Australia before. We are looking forward to how they go, particularly the bowlers like Xavier, Spencer, and Nathan coming back into the national side.”
