After the massive success of the first season of Squid Game, the fans are super excited and waiting for the next season to come. The last season took the world by storm, bringing out something unique that portrayed a deadly survival game, economic desperation. It was not just a visual spectacle but a psychology roller coaster that left viewers to wonder what they would do in similar circumstances. Season 2 is approaching, and the buzz is getting louder only now; what would we expect from this much-awaited sequel?
In Season 1, We followed Seong Gi-hun as he bravely faced and survived many dangerous challenges, eventually becoming the winner. But then, the story really doesn’t end there; there are still ways to go. At the close of the first season, Gi-hun promised revenge on the unknown shrouding powers behind the squid game. Season 2 will continue where that left off, with Gi-hun returning and now tackling new problems as he tries to break down this corrupt system from the inside.
Alongside him familiar faces will be returning, including the mysterious Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun, and detective Hwang Jun-ho, portrayed by Wi Ha-joon. Adding further suspense will be new characters and deadly games. Speaking to the audience in the latest interaction from creator Hwang Dong-hyuk, there is a hint that new games and layers will come into Season 2, keeping viewers at the edge of their seats.
Mark the date Squid Game season 2 is set to release on December 26, 2024 on Netflix. And that’s not all, as the third season of the show has also been confirmed and will hit screens sometime during 2025 as a proper series ending-the waiting game will be worth it.
