The ABC of Indian Cinema: Chiranjeevi Receives ANR National Award from Amithab Bachchan

In a grand ceremony held in Hyderabad, Mega Star Chiranjeevi was given the prestigious Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) National Award. The special function was held on Monday and was attended by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who Presented the award to Chiranjeevi. The ceremony also marked the 100th birth anniversary of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, the legendary figure in Telugu cinema and the father of actor Nagarjuna.

This is an initiation award from the Akkineni International Foundation, an association for artists who made prominent contributions to Indian cinema. The event was significant because of its tribute to the one who has been very active and influential in this field-ANR. Throughout the ceremony, Nagarjuna even termed Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan as the “ABC of Indian Cinema” that meant monumental contributions for film.

Amitabh Bachchan, while speaking spoke on the very rich culture of Telugu film industry and thanks organisers for being part of this memorable function. Here was Amitabh presenting his prize to Chiranjeevi and described him to be a dear friend and colleague and thanks Nagarjuna as well as his family who invited him to be the part of this function so prestigious. Amitabh shared a nice message saying, “Thanks, Chiranjeevi, for your friendship, concern, love, and humility.” He joked about Chiranjeevi sending him so much food that he could have fed the entire hotel.

Mega Star Chiranjeevi said “The opportunity to succeed in this industry came during the Vajrotsavam Celebrations. When everyone gathered to present me with the Legendary Award, I felt incredibly happy. However, when some didn’t seem pleased, I began to doubt whether I deserved it. That day, I didn’t feel like I had truly won at home. Today, receiving the Great ANR Award from Amitabh Bachchan and hearing my friend say that I have all the qualifications makes me feel like I have won both at home and elsewhere.”

Chiranjeevi was visibly teary-eyed while taking the award. As a sign of respect, he prostrated and touched the feet of Amitabh and sought his blessings. Such a touching moment indicated that both actors have respect for each other. Taking his time to pose with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna for photographs was taking in the joy of the situation.

Global Star Ram Charan, Legendary Brahmanandam, Nani, Prakash Raj, and Ramya Krishnan are some of the stars who attended the function. Naga Chaitanya, along with his fiancee Sobhita Dhulipala, also graced the ceremony. Overall, ANR National Award function, it was not only a award ceremony to Mega Star Chiranjeevi but also a rich and cultural tribute to the grand legacy of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
