After much anticipation and several delays, Tamil Star Suriya’s much awaited film Kanguva, directed by Siva, is all set to hit theatres on November 14. Fans are super excited for its release, and industry experts are predicting a blockbuster opening, with sky high expectations for its box office performance.
Kanguva was supposed to release on October 10, but its release was postponed to avoid clashing with Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan. Now, it will release on a Thursday, which is different from the usual weekend release. However, experts believe it will still perform well over the weekend. Although bookings in Karnataka and North India have been slower, there’s still hope that these regions will see a boost as the release date approaches. Positive word of mouth could also help increase ticket sales over the weekend.
On its first day, Kanguva is expected to earn between Rs 13 crore to Rs 15 crore in Tamil Nadu, making it one of the top releases of the year. While it might not reach the opening numbers of films like The GOAT (Rs 31.50 crore), it is expected to do better than films like Indian 2 (Rs 13 crore) and Thangalaan (Rs 12.50 crore).
Across India, the movie could earn over Rs 30 crore on its first day, with contributions from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Kerala, and Karnataka. If the film gets positive reviews, it could have a strong run at the box office in the days that follow. With strong advance bookings and excitement around its release, Kanguva is expected to perform well at the box office.
