Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’ is an action drama film with mother-son emotion at its core. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and veteran actress Vijayashanthi in the lead roles. Directed by Pradeep Chilukuri, the movie created good buzz before release because of the emotional trailer and Vijayashanthi’s strong comeback. Let’s see how the movie actually turned out.

Story:

Arjun (Kalyan Ram) is a young man who was once training to become an IPS officer. Due to undisclosed circumstances he becomes a powerful gangster in Vizag. His mother Vyjayanthi (Vijayashanthi), a retired IPS officer, is disappointed with her son and stays away from him. The two don’t speak and live in different places. One day, Arjun finds out that a criminal named Pathan (Sohel Khan) is planning to harm his mother. Why did Arjun choose crime? Will he protect his mother? Will they become close again? The film answers all these questions.

Performance:

Kalyan Ram has done a good job in the role of Arjun. He looks perfect in mass scenes and also does well in emotional parts. His action scenes are powerful, and he carries the film with good energy. His scenes with Vijayashanthi are very strong and full of emotion.

Vijayashanthi is the heart of the film. She plays a strict, bold police officer and also a caring but hurt mother. Her expressions, body language, and dialogue delivery are very impactful. After a long gap, her performance reminds us of her earlier powerful roles. She handles action scenes well and adds seriousness to the movie.

Saiee Manjrekar, the heroine, doesn’t have much to do. She appears in a few scenes and one song, but her character has no depth.

Srikanth plays a negative role and gives a solid performance. Babloo Prithviraj and Sohel Khan also do justice to their roles.

Analysis:

The film has a simple and routine story. The mother-son emotion is the main highlight, but the narration feels regular. The first half is fast with some interesting scenes, but the second half becomes slow with repeated flashbacks and unnecessary fights. The romantic track is weak and doesn’t add much to the story.

However, the last 20 minutes of the film are very emotional and engaging. The climax has a twist that surprises the audience and gives a strong ending to the film.

On the technical side, the camera work is good. Action scenes look grand. Songs are not impressive, but the background score works well during key scenes. Editing could have been better, especially in the second half.

Verdict:

‘Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi’ is a regular commercial film with a few emotional moments. The performances of Kalyan Ram and Vijayashanthi make the film worth watching. But due to its predictable story, weak songs, and slow second half, it ends up as a one-time watch.

Rating: 2.25/5
