YS Jagan Criticizes TDP’s ‘Red Book’ Culture, Introduces ‘Good Book’

Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed strong criticism of the “Red Book” culture associated with the TDP-led NDA government, labeling it a negative practice. He emphasized that he does not support this approach and instead introduced the concept of “Good Book.” This initiative aims to document and highlight the positive contributions of party members, ensuring that those who work hard and make significant contributions receive proper recognition within the party.

He asked the party workers to remain united and united in the wake of all challenges, saying that real leadership is only established during critical situations. Jagan had been demanding a strong organisational structure at the grass root level-the formation of booth committees-saying the party will be fully geared up for election.

Jagan made Donthireddy Vema Reddy in-charge to heighten the leadership of the party at Mangalagiri strategically. The decision means that the party is ready to support loyal workers and an absolute leadership at the grass-root level.

Jagan was lamenting the decline in performance under NDA government, which he says implies total reversal of what he put in place while in power. He asserted that his government was shocked to find that “scant efficiency and an absence of fairness, particularly in vital sectors like health and education,” were present. Jagan said, “Above all, welfare programs like Aarogyasri have been in shambles, with over ₹2,300 crore in pending bill arrears which directly affects people’s access to quality medical care.”.

Referring to the phenomenal change he had brought about in all sectors during his five-year tenure, Jagan said that was what marked that term of his office, even as he defended his government’s claim of having fulfilled every promise it made in its election manifesto. Amongst these large-scale reforms that the government has undertaken include using English as a medium of instruction in all of its schools, digital tools for learning for every student, and a full-fledged agricultural support system. “These steps mark a new benchmark for governance in the state,” he added.
